Direct Services Leader

Full-Time (38 hours per week) 12-month fixed term. Based in Grafton or Coffs Harbour

We’re currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Direct Services Leader to join our team on a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract, with the potential for ongoing employment. This role is based in Grafton or Coffs Harbour and plays a key part in delivering high-quality, person-centred supports across our disability services.

About the role

As a Direct Services Leader, you’ll play a vital role supporting our Team Leader to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, and person-centred support services for NDIS participants. You’ll oversee day-to-day operations in your service area, including Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes, Short-Term Accommodation (STA), and individual support, and lead a team of dedicated support workers.

You’ll foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and excellence in care.

Your responsibilities:

  • Oversee the delivery of NDIS supports across SIL, STA, and individual supports
  • Build strong, respectful relationships with participants, families and external stakeholders eg. support coordinators and behavioural practitioners
  • Lead and supervise a team of support workers, including performance reviews as required
  • Ensure services are delivered in line with legislation, funding requirements, Livable’s policies and NDIS quality standards.
  • Respond to and manage incidents appropriately, including follow-up and reporting
  • Promote a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.
  • Complete administrative tasks to support efficient and effective service delivery.

About You

You’re a confident, compassionate leader with hands-on experience in disability services. You thrive on responsibility, build positive relationships with ease, and are committed to participant outcomes.

You have:

  • Certificate IV in Disability or a related field, with at least 3 years’ relevant experience
  • Experience coordinating 24-hour residential supports for people with complex needs
  • Strong experience supporting NDIS participants with high-intensity needs, ASD, intellectual disability, and behaviours of concern
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to finding solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and cultural sensitivity
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check and NDIS Orientation Module completed, or willing to complete.
  • Current Driver’s Licence and Working With Children Check
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and CRM databases
  • A self-starter attitude, with a strong sense of accountability and ability to work both independently and collaboratively

You will also be required to complete the NDIS Quality & Safeguards Commission Worker Orientation Module or provide evidence of completion.
